Agilix Solutions has announced the retirement of company President Darrell Smith, effective December 31, 2023. Smith will continue to serve as a member of the Agilix Board of Directors.
Darrell has enjoyed a distinguished career in the electrical/industrial automation industry and in wholesale distribution. After serving for 20 years at Rockwell Automation in sales and leadership roles, he assumed the role of President at IAC Supply Solutions in 2010. His leadership continued when IAC merged with French Gerleman in 2021 to form Agilix Solutions, where he has served as President.
The company will maintain an executive presence in its South region, where Smith has operated from the company’s Memphis branch. His leadership legacy will endure as team members step into new roles within the organization.
Stephen Read, Senior VP of Customer Experience, will expand his current responsibilities to encompass the management of Agilix Solutions’ technical services delivery. This expansion will provide a comprehensive approach to enhancing each customer’s end-to-end experience. Stephen will also maintain leadership over the company’s marketing, eCommerce, inside sales, and product management teams. With more than 30 years of experience in industrial automation, electrical systems and power transmission, Stephen brings a wealth of expertise to this expanded role.
David Armstrong, who has served as Regional VP for the South region since 2022, has been promoted to the position of Senior VP of Sales and will lead sales efforts across the organization. Since joining Agilix, Dave’s contributions have driven revenue growth and bolstered relationships with suppliers. With more than 25 years of experience in the electrical distribution industry, he has a strong track record of building lasting connections with customers and manufacturer partners.
